The certification courses listed below prepare students for American Montessori Society credentials.

Major curriculum areas are presented during the summer Academic Phase. All courses include a nine-month Student Teaching Practicum. Practicum students work under the supervision of qualified Montessori teachers at cooperating schools. Most students receive a stipend, hourly wages, or a salary from their school during the student teaching practicum phase.

Academic work is completed at seminars held on weekends during the practicum. Students must complete competency evaluations at each seminar. All courses include a strong Observation component with assignments to be completed during the summer and the practicum.

Note: Overview Course (1 week) is a non-certification prerequisite for Infant / Toddler and Elementary I-II courses. This prerequisite is waived for candidates who hold an AMS, AMI or MACTE recognized Early Childhood credential. For more information about the Overview Course, click “here”
