Position: Other Lead Teacher / Guide

Description: We currently have a homeschool co-op but it could become a micro school if you are a colorado state certified teacher. Five families have gotten together to create a montessori experience for their children. It has been a successful first year. The parents are happy with the learning and socializing that has developed. The current teacher/director was only in it for the pandemic year, and has to return to her and her child's life in Jefferson county. The space is the size of a three or four car garage, but has been working out nicely. 930-330 school hours, with a two hour work cycle in the morning, lunch, recess, and then afternoon work cycle. Flexible 3-4 days a week work (we did Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday due to pandemic ski school schedule). Currently it is operating as a homeschool co op and teacher is "contracted" as a tutor. It is a lovely work environment with nice families turned into good friends.

Qualifications: Montessori know-how. Must be kind and firm on expectations of doing one math, one writing and one reading work per day, and able to teach a wide age range in a limited space.

It would be nice to create a Micro School, which requires a colorado state licensure.

Description of Community: Five families, 3 of which have sibling pairs in attendance, have come together to create a Montessori School after the Montessori 3-15 Bristlecone Montessori of Alma closed down. The wide age range made it necessary to merge primary and lower elementary. Parents are all local business owners, giving their children an alternative to public school. Two parents are Montessori trained, but for the toddler level. Monthly gatherings and meetings creates a lovely sense of community.

Start Date: 08/31/2021

How To Apply: Please email resume and cover letter to emmy38@gmail.com with 3LB or Three Little Birds in the subject line.
